im not sure on the 2000+ since ive got a 96....you've probably got 2 mufflers...but anyways, i just had a magnaflow put on mine this morning, and wow!!!! real throaty sound, deep, but not too loud while you are cruising...i would highly suggest magnaflow for cat and muffler

i honestly dunno.

does anyone know if our bonnies are "fake" dual exhaust or actually dual exhaust?? and how many mufflers and cats do we have on an 01 ssei??

and is flowmaster and magnaflow the 2 best names out there? for example... when i was looking at audio.. i heard that alpine and jl audio were 2 really great brands. then i pushed further for better brands and i ran into RE audio which really blows it all away. same thing with tires, falken fk452s are sexy tires... but michelin ps2 are just better. so is flowmaster and magnaflow the best, or is there better out there? would a saleen s7 owner put a flowmaster/magnaflow exhaust on his car????

The 2000+ SSEi'* have 2 mufflers but it is not a true dual exhaust.

The front manifold dumps into the rear manifold which then goes under the car to the cat & shortly behind that is the resonator followed by a Y pipe which then goes to each respective muffler. Take a look on this thread

They are both great brands along with many other brands out there. But like the audio you speak of you need to hear them in person (video clips & sound clips sound nothing like what it does in person) to know what each brand sounds like compared to another. Then you will know what you like and what you would put on that Saleen S7 if you had it.

well, you see, i am under the impression that flowmaster and magnaflow manufacture the best mufflers you can possibly buy. therefore i research further into each company not knowing of any other company that may be better.

thanks for the thread link. now my question would be what size muffler? 3"? and there are also different types... for example i am preferable towards this:

but they also make:

so what im wondering is...does my car require a specific one? or can i get the one i like?

and also.. magnaflow makes 4" ones for racing, whats the difference?? would that be better? heh thanks

i love u guys for putting up with me

Flowmaster & Magnaflow both make a quality product and so do other companies like Dynomax and so on. I'm not very familiar with the sizing of the pipe after the Y in the 2000+ models but you don't want to run 3" pipe anywhere in your system you'll lose power. Find out the stock size pipe and a muffler that has the same in/out locations as your Bonne.

i'm gonna have to turn this into a full exhaust thread. i was talking with aaron (toasty) and i just think itd be an awesome idea to transform the bonnie fake dual into an actual dual exhaust. ive got $2k to spend and i want all new parts... may not be enough but ill get the excess..

i believe these are everything i need:

headers x ?

downpipe x ?

high-flow cat x 2

resonater x ?

muffler x 2

and i think i have to add tips as well??

whatever... either way.. magnaflow for the muffler. dunno bout length?? ive been told POG/pacesetter make the best headers?? and everything else i have no clue about, no clue about makes or models, no clue about sizes.. pleasseee: ANY AND ALL OPINIONS PLEASE JUST POST.

You'd be surprise how much having your exhuast done 100% from your motor to tips can cost. I spent $1'600-1'700 on mine and I installed my headers and got a deal on my custom piping which I'm not very happy with the bends.

I would have to say TOG & SLP make the best headers for our cars.

If you really want some nice mufflers........................................

And when I say nice, I mean... AMAZING.

I HIGHLY doubt anyone on here has tried them, but I have a set on my other car.

Dynomax Ultraflows.

Take a Flowmaster, and make it more growly. That'* the sound you'll get. They also have 3x the flow rate of a Flowmaster. Suprisingly, they're not as loud as a Flowmaster either. Like I said, they have the tone, just with more of growl behind it.

Advance Auto carries them... otherwise Summit does too.

do you got a sound clip of those dynomax, cause right now from what ive read in the tech area, magnaflow is the way to go.

the main issue i have right now is sizes...i

assume i need oval mufflers, but i cant find the specs of our exhaust anywhere. 3" in/outlet, but 4x9" oval, 5x8" oval, 5x11"?? as well as the length?? 18"? i need a place to tell me everything about our exhaust. anyone know where?
