Converting to Handbrake?
Looking for a handbrake. No way you can call a car a "performance vehicle" without a good handbrake, especially RWD.
I bet most handbrake setups have more pull on the cable then the footbrake in our cars, so that might be good. Anyone have any suggestions on where to begin? there isn't too much room on the left side of the drivers seat because of the map holder...

Chances are, you will need to grab a console from a Handbrake'd car.. which would be any car that had a manual tranny.. or had the option for one. You should grab the linkage from it, and re route the linkage from the hand brake, to the brake on the rear drum.. basically where the old one came from. This is MUCH easier said then done.

Email Hector. He'* already worked alot of this out. I think he even found the most appropriate (easiest install) donor part for the handle. We talked quite a bit about this back in the day. He likes to drift on freeway offramps.

A little history behind this....Hector started working on this for the Crown Victoria market. His intent was to market this for Police Department use. There'* alot of merit in that idea.

I was going to use some pre-existing one, and re-route the line I think, but using a handbrake'* original cable with my rear drums might work easier (don't need to take up all the extra line i may run into).
I'd like a good return spring on it too, since the foot one i have now doesn't always come up as it should... Better then the push on/off though... oye i hate that.
Ends while i'm at work...

Make sure you go as thin as possible, preferably with a side mounting, not bottom. That'* if you intend to install it on the side of the console.
I'd really like to see this work. You gonna do it?
