Where is the coil pack change guide?
I was searching around for how to change the three coil packs and I eventually only found one link for a guide, but it was an old post and came up 404. Hope there isn't one I missed in the how to or I'm gonna feel like a dunce.
I figured since I changed my spark plugs and wires I could do my coils too. I got Belden wires (found out the same wires where already in my car) and I replaced the champion plugs that were in there with Autolites Double Platinum, that'* what they guy at Napa told me was stock when I asked for Autolites.
Are coil packs from napa alright, and do they have colored packs?
By the way the car seems to be starting up much better, sounds cleaner on idle. Haven't had a chance to drive it myself yet though, won't until this weekend. Just to put my mind at ease, if I didn't put a plug in right and it was missing or something would I get a light on inside? I did use anti-seize on the plug, got it even though the smallest the store had was a $12 tub. Anyone want some? lol.
The dreaded #6 sparkplug wasn't all that bad, took me only 15 minutes since I decided to do it first and it was my first time doing a tune up. Of course by the time I put #5 on I remember I didn't put the anti-seize on, so I had to take both off again. Just now I also remembered I didn't put dielectric grease on them, so when I change the coil packs I will do that.
When I checked the old plugs with the gapping tool they seemed to be about .65 and the new sparkplugs were the same, so I left them as they were. Is that alright?
By the way great guide danthurs, really helped me with my first tune up. I will post pictures of my spark plugs, which I numbered and saved, when I get some way of uploading pictures.

If memory serves me here, there is 2 screws on each pack. Remove those screws and lift off the coil. Put some dielectric grease on the connections and place the new coil in place and tighten the screws. That'* it. Other then putting the plug wires back on.

Ah so I can buy the three new packs and it'* just unscrew the three of them in their entirety after taking the plugs off and the new ones screw on. Seems simple enough, thank you.

Those coils should be just fine. I have no idea what colors they come in. I went with MSD coils because I wanted red.
Stock gap is .060 I believe, but .065 wont hurt. If you pull them out again just change them to .060

Alrighty, well I just came in the way of a few bucks so changing the coil packs and buying a new dipstick (I hurt mine when changing the front plugs) is next on the agenda.
I painted my sway bar red too since I removed it. I put it on backwards though lol, but my mom needed my car so I'll have to put it back on correctly later.
After that I am going to see about that custom air filter schtuff...

First off the coil pack bolts are 5.5mm. Please don't replace them, they aren't bad and if you need to get $60 out of your pocket quickly, my paypal addy is William445. If you plan to throw away good money..I'm ready to help. Please add paypal fees, wouldn't want you to feel like you shorted me.

Well my car hasn't been having the smoothest start, and I only had a chance to start it up a few times right after I did the tune up to make sure it works so I'm still not sure if that fixed the problem completely, but wouldn't coil packs be the next thing to replace? I doubt they've ever been changed in the car'* life time, and our last car'* coils went bad.
So are those spark plugs I got alright tho? Also could I go down to .55 gap, would that increase performance, even if slightly?
I believe those wires just went out with the trash last night... DOH!

Our coils fire two plugs each. If a coil was bad, you'd feel like you were running on 4 or 5 cylinders. If it'* simply rough.. I'd check vacuum, do the tune up like you did, clean the maf and throttle body.

Well I already did the tune up, and I got home early today so I got to drive my car around some. It seems to start up cleaner. How to describe... more "sparky" sounding than "grinding". But the problem with the hard start ups persists, although it'* better.
Before when I would start my car up and it would be the 1 out of 10 start ups that it die it would act as follows: the RPMs goes up and then swings low almost about to die, it would hesitate just above 0 and then die. Now a lot of times it hesitates, hovering above 0 and then goes back up. So obviously the tune up helped. I also noticed my acceleration is better, perhaps not so much faster, but a bit more responsive.
First day that I have some time I am going to napa to buy that tester to test my coils, and also dielectric grease. I forgot that when I did the tune up. That'll probably help some as well.
I'll post back my test results. As for checking vacuum lines and cleaning the maf(whazzat?) and throttle body, I don't know where any of those are located and how to do that.
