Default More powerful sound

What'* a good and effective way to increase the sound of my car?
I'm guessing exhaust, mufflers, etc. but any suggestions?
Pretty much I want it to sound like those tuners you hear going down the street at 2:00 a.m. :P
Price range of around $500, give or take...

i have SLP headers, a 3" high-flow cat and 2 Flow Sound 3" inlet, 3" outlet mufflers(off -brand chambered, like flowmasters) with 3" pipe to 2 4" slant cut chrome tips. even before i got the headers it sounded sweet. Rogue took either pics or a video with his camera when i was there on friday. maybe he can post it up. minus the headers it costed under $500.

Summit Racing stainless steel 3" high-flow cat= $100
2 Flow Sound 2-chamber 3" inlet/outlet mufflers= $35each, $70
2 4" slant cut chrome tips= $20each, $40
= $210(plus installation)

my friends helped me with the cat, piping and mufflers and then i paid a shop $40 to put the tips on nice and straight for me. so it was cheap for me.

PLEASE don't make it sound like those tuners. Please? That'* the worst sounding thing I've ever heard.

Do what 99% of us do. Nice deep, lopey rumble.

Videos and sound clips will NOT SOUND LIKE THEY REALLY DO IN PERSON. Don't pick exhaust components based on that. Go to a meet, listen to them in person, and go from there.

Haha I was waiting for someone to make a comment on that.
Trust me, I don't need my bonneville to sound like a Honda Civic with it'* muffler cut off.
But I want to let people know I have an aftermarket muffler/exhaust system and maybe make them a bit indimidated by it
Just like a low growl mixed with the supercharger'* whine would sound sweet.
All I have at the moment is a CAI which makes it sound pretty cool, but also sounds like my car is screaming

take a look at this muffler
http://www.holley.com/types/Aero%20Chamber.asp
here it is on my car (5th one back)
http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...rent=flyby.flv
here is the Part #: 21513HKR that my car has for the mufflers.
my wife'* car won best exhaust at the '06 WCBF, one of the judges said
" damm that makes my nipples hard" . i have had them on the car for over 130,000 miles
and they sound the same today as they did when i put them on 5 or 6 years ago.

Rob'* (rrounds) sounds pretty good. I have not heard a better sounding 00+ setup. I will probably copy him when I go 3" all the way back.

Even my 2.5" f-body style hooker aero muffer sounded darn good.

That or manafow...they both will sound good as long as you have a resonator on there.
