Default whats the cheapest and easiest way to add hp on my 2000 ssei

hey guys, brand new to the forum. actually brand new to the bonneville. im looking for ways to make my car faster however money is an issue for me:(
The other thing is my cars gauge says that my temp is fine and seems to read correctly. However when you pop the hood it seems to be putting off alot of heat. what can i do to help this. Is drilling holes in the airbox a good idea?

gutting the air box...Free
Intense PCM...$99
Smaller pulley...$79 if you can find someone with a puller, more if you have to buy one.
Thermostat...$10
Fender well intake if you decide not to gut the air box...$179

That is going to be a good start, then you start moving into more expensive items like headers, cams, heads, nitrous, etc....

ya the engine will make alot of heat that is not a problem

all the mods listed above are a good start. I would recommend the following in this order

180* Thermo (the car will not run cooler in traffic with out fan turnons cnahged in the PCM)
Intake
PCM
3.5 pulley

First thing you will want to do is gut your air box and install a good filter. Then pull the 195* thermo and install a 180*. Changing a pulley will give you a good kick or the price. Where are you located. If another member is near by with a puller, your life will be made much easier. I suggest a 3.5", unless you can get a scan of the car, some can go to a 3.4" After that a PCM will be a good idea. But the cost can get up there. The real price can come from going to a dealer to get a case learn done. Beyond that price goes up, tranny shift kit, $150, PEMs $100+, headers, $500+ rockers, $300+

What exactly does changing the PCM (Intense) do?

What does changing the temp thermo from 195 to 180 do?

Thanks!

Changing the PCM will remove the limit for speed, increase tranny pressure, up your shift points to 6000 add skip shift, change your temp setting to 180, as well as a bunch of other things. It'* well worth the price of the upgrade. Where in Wisconsin are you located Pologuy.
