The Dream Drivetrain (SII L67, 6 speed)
http://forums.aaca.org/showflat.php?...ID=#Post427858
Howdy guys. I wanted to let you guys know I'm creating a thread on the AACA / Reatta.net message board to launch perhaps the most ambitious project of its kind...a Series II L67 and six speed manual being mated and swapping into my '89 Reatta. Its going to be stretched over maybe a couple months, but will have lots of pix and useful details.

Boy that trans sure did not last long did it! But hey, 20,000 miles on an old trans I'm impressed.
Its going to be a PITA to fabricate a pedal and everything, among several other issues that you will need custom parts for....like mounts for example.
I dont see why you dont just drop the entire drivetrain out of a GS/GTP/SSEi but then again to say you have a 6 speed reatta with a 3800 series 2....thats something else.

Sounds like a fun project. Let me know if you end up going through with it because I'd like to see it, and being in Holt I'm obviously not too far from you.
Sounds pretty sweet and I hope you do end up going through with it.
Good Luck!!!!

I would use the donor PCM, if one could ever get it to properly interface with the Reatta'* BCM. There is no engine on earth that would be worth giving up the Electronic Control Center for. Perhaps someday I can hire a cheap Linux programmer that could make a laptop act as a data stream translator of sorts
Sorry for the old pix, but I still haven't changed that odd red steering wheel and column
But think, I can rub it in your faces, that I don't have to worry about blowing up my 440-T4 anymore, and won't have to mess with torque management

I dunno guys, instead of linking you to the Reatta board, I'm thinking of using this board as my primary place for updates and stuff and linking them. You Bonneville dudes are more interested...the Reatta guys mostly just sit there.
If someone tells me to, I'll switch
