Default 1998 SSEi 1/4M Times.

Just wondering vaguely what my stock '98 SSEi should be able to run in the quarter mile.

I will be dragging it on a real track hopefully this Saturday, just wondering what to expect. (And wondering if I'm going to whoop one of my friends too! )

And if anyone has some tips on dragging it, that'd be fabulous.

Thanks,

Brad

If i remember correctly I believe they run in the high 15'* stock.
Be sure and post your times after you race at the track. We need to see some numbers for these awesome cars.

Widerman - I'll be going to St. Thomas Dragway.

Blk_Bonneville - It'* an '83 Caprice, BUT with a new dropped in engine, headers, high end cables, dual exhaust, new tranny.

Essentially everything performance wise has been replaced or modded to some degree.

That'* really all the details I know about his car. Other than it'* a tank, lol.

London Motorsports Park ya mean? Ya I been there a few years ago. You really think it'll be open? By the way, I think mid 15'* would be reasonable with a stock series II */C

I got 14.98 outta my series I 94 SSEi with only a few mods....I'll give ya a few tips.

1) Drive AROUND the water box, don't waste your time or drivetrain attempting a FWD burnout with a street sedan.

2) Pedel the car off the line, if you have raced before you will know what this means, if not, let me know and I'll explain it to you.

3) I leave when the second yellow comes up, these cars don't exactly "snap" you off the line.

I believe that place used to be know as London Motorports Park, I went there a few years ago when they had a few NHRA + IHRA cars there, I believe it was Jerry Eckman, Chuck Etchells, Al Hoffman and John Force, not sure though.

"Pedaling" your car requires you to be familiar with your car. You need to know just how much you can put your foot into it at any given time before the wheels will slip, I have never raced there but I know at Cayuga on street tires, my SSEi would sit still off the line if I just hopped on it. DRIVE the car off the line and become familiar with just how much power you can "pedal" down and you will become more familiar with just how good an ET you can actually get out of your car. Don't get discouraged the first few passes you make, it'll take a little time before you get consistent, and don't hot lap the car, that'* just abusing it, keep in mind your driving a sedan not a pro-mod. After 5-7 passes if your good you should expect approx about 15.20 roughly ( a lot of things can effect this time ) at maybe 87-90 MPH? Just ballparking but I shouldn't be too far off!

Good luck and have fun!

Mike
