Fuel pressure gauge mod
Anybody have a picture of a fuel pressure gauge teed off of the schraeder valve? I think it might be reasonable thing to do when I have engine apart doing the LIM gaskets. If you've done it, paragraph on process and parts used would be appreciated. Thanx in advance!

Why do you want to T it off? so you can still relieve the pressure in the system at the other side of the T? I have an electric fuel pressure gauge and from my experience you could do it right now and not necessarily when you do the LIM.
1. They always recommend to unhook the neg. battery cable when working with your fuel system just to avoid that one freak accident where you have sparks and fuel meet.
2. relieve pressure in the fuel system. I use a towel over the pressure relief valve and then depress the pin. The towel catches the fuel that drips/squirts out.
3. you need a schraeder valve tool sometimes available in the bicycling section of stores or the car section will have them as well. The tool is used to take the core out of the schraeder valve on your fuel rail.
4. Then you just need the right adapters to connect your fuel rail to the T to the gauge. Just make sure to use a sealing compound on the threads to avoid leaks.
I remote mounted my pressure sensor using SS line from Autometer. This isn't like what you want to do but if you change your mind and want the fuel pressure gauge in the car this is how i set mine up.

I have mine Teed off but my valve is on the rear of the fuel rail. Not the front.
I'm running a FP gauge and adjustable regulator. Do you want pics of mine? The Tee is very specific for this purpose. It has to be a valved tee.

At the fuel rail, I used one of these
Earl'* Performance AN to NPT Adapter Fitting EAR-916104ERL to adapt to a 1/8” NPT tee.
I put a 1/8” NPT gauge on one side of the tee and a Nordskog NRD-S8434 sender on the other side.
Right now I just have a wire run inside the car to read the sender with a multimeter when I want.
Future brainstorm is to tap into oil pressure gauge on the dash and rig a switch to read either fuel pressure or oil pressure.

That'* pretty clever. Only problem i see is that the oil pressure gauge isn't nearly as accurate with its increments as an actual fuel pressure gauge would be.

The gauge philosophy I had in mind was to use the one under the hood for accuracy and the interior gauge to just give a relative indication of how much fuel pressure drops at WOT compared to idle.
