Even better idea - make it a rear wheel drive like the way all the pro stock cars are done. This way you will avoid the traction headaches and the weak transaxle problems. If you know someone that can help with the mods, it should be easy to throw in a rear coil over axle. Then you'll just need to weld a floor tunnel to give space for the driveshaft and maybe custom engine mount for the V8. You could get a crate V8 pretty cheaply ready built. I would probably add twin turbos/intercoolers on the V8 and be the first Bonnie to run single digits in the quarter.

It'* gotta be a Pontiac V8 though. Or a Buick V8 . No generic SBC (-yawn-)
Or do like that one dude, and put a motor/transaxle in the rear!

if he is looking to switch to a V8 hes picked the wrong one, he should pick one a little more mod friendly.. like a ls1, which will probly also be cheaper. btw the fwd n* is different from the rwd n*

A more worthwhile mod IMO would be to mat a 4t80 with the l67. At least that way you dont have to replace the tranny on a modded engine every 30k. Those trannys can take ALOT of abuse!
