custom exhaust..?
Hey all....
the stock exaust is well past its due for a replacement. I have been thinking either to replace the stock muffler with a performance one from Magnaflow or Flowmaster, or possibly going a *little* crazy and putting a glasspack on.
So my question is this, has anyone put a glasspack on these cars?
And what muffler recommendations do you guys have for me?
The engine is stock other than a custom-made intake, by me.
Any and all info is very very much appreciated!!! razysmile:

Glass packs are a little tough. The muffler on the 87-99 Bonnevilles is mounted sideways. If you have duals it'* a single in and dual outs of one muffler.
Most guys wanting to change the muffler find the F body ones to be the closest match.
Although in my case, I left the muffler as OEM replacement and made the rest louder.

what do you mean glasspacks are a little tough? in what way?
if your thinking installation-wise, my idea would be to install the G.P. as far back from the cat as possible, while keeping it parallel with the line of the car, then going Y-pipe, and hooking back into the dual tailpipes in the bumper.
im really just concerned about it sounding terrible, though. Especially from a stock (other than the intake) engine.

The way I understand it, the resonator is basically a glass pack. I have heard of people putting a glass pack in that spot. Not sure what that does to the sound. Removing it completely will have the car sound raspy.

good to know.
i like the idea of the flowmaster. sounds like it would be a bit loud for me though. do you have any recordings of your car revving up?

Does your car have a single in double out muffler now? Or do you have a Y pipe with 2 separate mufflers? If single, a series 80, if 2 mufflers then series 40

single-in, dual-out.
i work at a local auto-parts store called Lordco and I'm picking up a Flowmaster 80 series, single in, dual out, all at 2.5'' for $100. going to put it on this weekend.
ill take pictures and video if i remember and post them to show all how it goes.
