Two hopefully quick questions
Lately I have noticed my '98 Bonneville does not turn over right away.
I find when I drive around slow and keep the RPM as low as possible my engine fires up right away. However, when I accelerate quickly (RPM 3000 +) and start my car later that day, the engine takes a second or two to turn over. I know very little about engines and this has me worried to the point that I try to accelerate as slow as possible (most of the time). Does anyone know why this may be happening?
Another quick question. I have a Ipod cigarette adapter. It will only work when plugged in to the cigarette lighter in the back seat, even though the lighter on the dash works. It is becoming a real inconvenience and I have no idea why the lighter works in the front but not the adapter.
Last one! Does electronics that plug into cigarette lighters (i.e. Ipod adapter, cell phone chargers, GPS) affect fuel consumption?
Thanks for any help.

Clean the MAF sensor
Check to see if the adapter you have is different, there may be a difference between a 12v power supply and a cigarette lighter
No, plugging things in should not effect mileage.

I would pull the plugs and have a look. Most other things shouldn't change no matter how the car is run. Rich/lean fouling can happen on burst speed runs etc to a degree.
When was the last plug change/tune up?
on the cig lighter. Take a look at the plug and the outlet. There is something that is not making full contact and hence it wont' work.

When i first bought it i had to look at the rpm to make sure it was running when i started it. Now i can hear it start, it'* gotten rough.
What is involved with a typical tune up?

Go to the tech info area. most, if not all maintenance is listed there. Those write ups will hep walk you threw each step.
If it'* running rough chances are it needs new plugs and possibly new plug wires.
