Turbo headers

Yeah, I've been interested in the STS system for a coupla years now, problem is they have the intake back by the turbo, and I live on a gravel road. I'm sure the filter would stop most of the dust, but not all of it. I guess I could pipe the intake from the front to the back, or just put the turbo at the back of the headers, where my hi flo cat is right now, then straight pipe it from there. That'd sure be easier than building headers, and a lot better for underhood temps.
I've heard somewhere about a formula for figuring out the right size turbo for your application, anybody have an idea about that? CT kits run a pt61, but they only run off the front bank manifolds. I'm hoping by running off both manifolds that I'll get a quicker spool up, and more power quicker.
