What about a dual Turbo set up on a rebuilt Non sc 3.8l. I have this 3.8 sitting in the garage and I don’t just want to rebuild it to be stock. That is boring. Soooo the idea of Turbo came to my mind. Hmm-new heads, ground cam and turbos. Anyone ever seen or heard of this? I bet it would put out big time. I mean if you have a sc it would be silly but there is a huge number of blown or unused non sc 3.8’* that have a great potential.

You might want to try checking with the GN guys for turbo info on a 3.8. Their cars are RWD and single turbo, but they could probably help you with cams and turbo selections. Check out http://www.gnttype.org

I thought about doing a twin turbo setup, the hardest part would be just getting the routing of the exhaust. But its feasible, just plan it out and take your time. Only reason I didn't do this cause I am too lazy for that. Supercharger would be slightly easier.

I also have researched a twin turbo setup for the 3800. I would not go with the l36 though, as the l67 already has most of the upgrades already done to it. This includes larger fuel injectors, a larger fuel pump and stronger pistons to name a few things. The only negative thing about the l67 is the lower compression ratio. However, with 14 psi boost, approximately 500 hp can be produced with the system I have designed. I am still in the very early stages of design. Pretty much I'm too broke to start buying parts to tinker with. I have heard some rumors from friends at clubgp.com .....
A bonneville with 500 hp would be a very nice sleeper!

You would need a new tranny for your turbo. I talk to a GM mechanic, he said you'd f@#% up the tranny with the horse power you'd be pushing.

our 4t60e tranny can barely handle the power our stock engines produce and the 4t65e can hardly handle a modified L67 SC 3800. Intense just came out with an amazing performance transmission for our cars and the grand prixes. ZZPerformance is also making an aftermarket sc kit for the NA 3800'*. If you go to http://www.clubgp.com/forum/ you can find the section on l36 engines. There you will find info by a guy named Zooomer. From what i've heard the kit is amazing and bolts right onto our stock engine, with no computer work needed. I've seen numbers around 75-100hp gained, with different sized pullies. I think this would be your best option, however, I plan to swap to the L67 and use the M112 SC.
