CGP is sponsored by ZZP, and therefore will never give a truly fair shake to any competing vendor.
This is why BC is not sponsored (nor ever will be) by any of our Vendors. All are on equal ground here.

Intense or DHP should both be fine.
Let me provide a little more insight on the "piston popping" issue. According to Todd Allen, the '04 Grand Prix GTPs (perhaps only the Comp G models) were shipped with more efficient superchargers (the M90 Gen. V, I believe). These same cars were also shipped with smaller fuel injectors than previous years. When Intense applied the usual PCM modifications to these cars, the combination of more boost and less fueling capability caused many cars to run extremely lean on the top end. Before this could be remedied, many cars blew pistons and labelled Intense as "bad business."
If I have this story wrong, please correct me. However, you shouldn't have anything to worry about, Cody. After the install, scan your car. You need to make sure the fuel trims and spark advance are where they're supposed to be. Don't just stick your head in the sand and assume that everything is fine. Be proactive, and anything that starts to go wrong should give you clues before catastrophic failure.

Anyone running a PCM with moderate to heavy modified spark tables should understand the consequences of said actions, and scan their car to ensure it'* not being pushed to hard. A few new 04 owners probably did not do this, as most had probably already owned a 97-03 with a matching PCM.
Reliability was on GM'* mind when they created their spark and fuel tables, but there still is plenty of room to get more power while still being as 'near as makes no difference' reliable as long as there are some supporting mods, and run correct fueling.

Great that we got the PCM mess sorted out, I was talking to Toasty. He keeps saying SSEi, SSEi, SSEi. I don't know what that means.... I brought up the topic of cam or rockers. he said cam if I got the $$$$
Now my question is this, which one would be the most benefical for everyday driving and still yields me some power. I would like to be one of the quicker L36s out there. Now i was surfing INTENSE'* website, their s1x cam recommend a TC, that'* very expensive. Is there a cam that I can run without having to get a new TC? Or is it one of those deal that where if you want this, you gotta buy that too?
I think I brought this up a long time ago but I want to really research it now since I'll be able to do some more modding now and some info may be updated now.
Thanks

I really dont want to say this, but I think that ZZP has a few cams that are more appropriate for the L36. I believe the GT1 cam will work great without the need for a TC any valve work.

I do believe that Intense doesn't get a fair shake on CGP but I think their are other reasons for that.
As far as PCMs I'd go with the one that has been out the longest and has done the most for 3800 PCMs. DHP hands down!

yes i would have to agree that the folks over at cgp are sorta anti intenses sorta like alot here are anti zzp.....
however my self and i think many of you as well. thinks its just a bunch of BS one site flameing another.
i look at intense for parts and i look at zzp for parts. cant realy say one part is better then another. (not just pcm but all parts) they are pretty much the same design, and built the same. so myself i just stay outa the drama and just buy what part that i want not what one site says is better.
zzp and intense. are both great companys and make great parts. dont realy think theres more to say bout that.

The fact of the matter is there are two companies who'* first effort is to deal wth these vehicles engine management systems, and they both know what they're doing. I would suggest going whichever has the features you like want, then the price, all things being equal.
