Transmission & dyno tune TIME: Ed'* Bonne Bulid Up
As some of you may have heard my motor has a rod knock and is chewing up bearings. She has been parked at the shop for 2 weeks while I get things in motion.
In the next few days I will (hopefully) be driving to Ed Morad’* shop (about 45mins from mine) and picking up a complete L32. Plans for that motor included an Intense S1X cam and supporting valve train components (CC 105s, lifters.) I also will be putting on a Northstar throttle body & reusing my L67 injectors currently on my car.
My transmission with 173k is original, so I’m sure the new power will make syrup of my clutches to say the least. I will be talking to Intense once I get the motor in and then getting a transmission & hopefully a dyno tune too if I can sell a lung.
The cam and goodies will be installed before the L32 goes in my Bonne. 2 of my co-workers, my dad are going to help me with this & by help I mean do most of the work since I’ve never done anything like this before. I’m yet to even pull the old L67 out so any suggestions & tips would help.

Well I talked to Ed Morad today on my lunch break. I'm going to pick up the complete L32 come Friday afternoon and then drop it off at my shop. My dad wants to use his minivan so I should have a good picture or two of that.
Looks like tonight or tomorrow I'll be ordering my cam & most of my goodies
I'm sure I'll have questions along the way and some of which I won't want to bother Intense with so I'll ask them here.

Ed..
With the OE-R lifters..do you need OE-R pushrods? Or do they take the place when the lifters aren't OE-R?
Best advice I can give you is that you have an engine stand and another buddy to hold the motor/stand when you are doing the cam bolt. Take pictures of the balancer/cam gear dots lining up and the cam/crank dots lining up. That will remove any doubt of timing being off or any other number of questions in the future.

Bill, Todd easily talked me out of the OE-R lifters. He said the stockers are good till 6500rpm and he still runs oem lifters. So that had me sold on not getting them (not to mention 35k on my L32 I’m sure they are still pretty fresh). Another reason why Intense is so great they aren't trying to constantly make a sale but help you make the best decision even if they lose a buck telling you not to buy a product.
After dealing with UPS who temporally lost my package from Intense twice I got most of my goodies intact.
I should be ordering my N* TB kit this week along with other gaskets and what not.
As long as I'm not swamped with new work in the shop tomorrow I'm going to start pulling stuff off my motor getting it ready to come out. I may also shoot a short video of her last L67 moments Maybe I'll see if the bottom end will hold together for 1 last WOT blast :P
In other news my boss came up to me today at the end of the day and told me how much he is impressed with my work and I will have a nice raise on my pay check tomorrow Can you say hello to more stuff?!

Raise!!! That'* awesome. Some days you wonder if Todd called the boss and told him about your modding plans. Hhitting a retread on the highway was the icing for me. (although I don't suggest it, more issues are cropping up).
Build plans look great and Todd talked me out of a few parts as well. Since you are saving on the lifters... automatically get the oil pressure kit/false knock elimination kit....and ask about the Timing Commander. It'* a great gadget that allows you to live a little closer to the edge.
Oil filter adapter. Currently the motor has the GP adapter on it, that doesn't look like it will be compatible with the Bonne. You also may have to change pans to yours to retain your adapter. Or maybe swap to an 00+ adapter and pan. Personally..the newer pan/adapter is great. No more oil on the frame from the filter and it tucks up a little higher than the old style pan.
Do you plan on keeping the L32 injectors and getting the adapter harnesses? IDK flow rate on them and would maybe consider swapping to the stock rail/injectors until upgrading injectors if the rate is the same as L67 stock injectors.
When swapping springs..I found the tool I used had one leg longer than the other. This is to compensate for grabbing the spring coils and might go unnoticed at first. It makes a big difference in time once you get it working with you.
Prep your exhaust gasket surfaces and check your ground and trans to engine bracket bolt holes before it goes in... I found that the ground cable in front is not used on the 01 engine I got and it was full of crud/painted over.

I don’t see myself getting the timing commander right now but later on down the line who knows.
I’m planning on swapping my oil pan over and using the oil filter adapter off my Bonne. I also plan on swapping my oil pressure kit over. The false knock elimination I will put off since I will be buying a new Intense Trans when she gets back on the road.
The L32 injectors are rated for much less then the L67 ones so I will be reusing my L67 injectors and trying to sell the L32 injectors. I also plan on reusing the l67 fuel rail if I can.
I’m pretty good working on cars but when it comes to putting in this cam I’m kinda lost. My co-worker who used to circle track race and build motors for years is going to help me install all this stuff so he’* got me covered. I’m just going repay him by helping him put up a new garage once my motor is all in. We both think it’* a fair deal.
Well since it was so hot today I only stayed a little after work and pulled my alternator and belts. And yanked a few things off the L32. I didn’t even bother firing her up one last time, I already laid a patch in the parking lot the other day with her. I may just spend the day in the shop on Saturday pulling stuff off the L67.
My raise worked out to 9% I was hoping for a little more but hell I just got one 6 months ago so I can’t complain.
