Default GTP vs SSEi

Hey guys, you know it'* really no contest.

The weight advantage of around 400 lbs puts the Bonne'* little bro always in the lead.

After browsing performance times over at the GP club, it'* plain to see.
Stock GTP'* run 14 sec @ 100 mph in the 1/4.
GTP'* with some minor mods like I've done run 13 sec @ 106......they were number 275 from the top. :P
Not too shabby

I feel the need.......the need for.............

A couple mods on an SSEi can catch up, but then we're not comparing apples to apples. But then again, are we comparing apples if we're talking cars that don't weight the same?

Even a Series 1 SSEi can take a stock GTP. I've racked up 2 now. Both were fun, and treated me with respect, as I'd expect from a fellow Pontiac driver. But then it'* apples and oranges, right?

Or is that bananas?

Turtle, everyone I talk to says I'm "cheating" with ....so then I say "race me" and they say "no".

End of story!

Question about nos.. doesn't the tank have to be refilled after each use? If not after each, then after how many? and how much to refill the tank?

You don't have to refill...just use the sucker till its dry. Helps to get a guage. I personally am getting a boost gauge and bottle pressure gauge with a pillar mount for free because I'm a special little boy.

With my current 55 shot Zex says it will last a total of 3 minutes....thats a LONG TIME!

I get mine refilled at a place called Auto Xpress for $3.50 a lb which is ungodly cheap.

There are stock 57 chevy tanks doing 8 1/2 in the quarter mile. Weight is not what is important. Decide what car you like the look of and the feel of and then the rest is up to your imagination and income.

Income issues and racing leave most guys doing silly things like buying a honda and putting NOS in it.

Find the car you like and the sky is the limit. Like I have said before the Grand Am can run 13s with just a sc on it add a few other goodies and it will run 11s no problem. The other option is the Sunfire. Yes there is a 800hp unit around but for a realistic street car that just needs oil and gas you can get around 3-400 hp without Nos and in standard or automatic. They go for between 9000.00-13000.00 for the engine. With that kind of sunfire I could blow away the lot of the GP and Bonneville crowd all day long. But who cares??? I dont want a sunfire. Sooo I plan to use the v8 in a Bonneville. Its more expensive but i want a Bonneville, that’* the car I picked. I can get up to 1200hp or if i want i can swap a LS1 into a Bonneville FWD or RWD no big deal. Well I don’t have the cash to do it at this point but the point is comparing "end" capabilities always end in crazy limits and huge budgets.

So either you like the car you have or you don’t. Believe it or not but it is cheaper to buy a fast bike and call it a day. I love the look of the GTP but there are way too many around and the Bonneville feels more individual to me. I am an individual and my cruiser will be very nice as I save and add Domestic Performance parts to it. LOL If you have the budget for a big build and are looking for a end car that is a awesome machine...well find the lightest domestic you can, strip it of all the unnecessary items and get ready to drop 30-4000.00 in it. When you are done you will have a scary machine that will go as fast as a Bike...LOL Or for about 10000.00
buy a Canadian Suzuki (bike) and add a turbo to it and blow them all away all day long.

Nos is not cheating its just cheaper. A great way to find the limits on a stock engine. For California often it is the only choice for smog reasons. A well built 3.8 with Nos would be a great way to go. I prefer wet Nos but that is just my opinion. Dry is easier though. I also believe in many large tanks. You can build your car to do the same numbers without Nos but the cost is far greater.

Man do i agree with you Speedguy we build our cars up because we`ve found the starting platform we want............like fox-body Stangs ( 84 ) ( my oldest daughters ) and put what we ant in them to make our own statements each persons platform is different.should we poop on them cuz thy bought a different car .no just smack `em down on the track.or get smack`d by something faster
