Tuning with an AFC v2.2
Just like it implies
Anybody tune with the AFC v2.2 , just wondering about how to get started and what to watch for, what to expect?? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Using to figure out your settings in order to have a custom PCM burned, I hope. You should only use it as a tuning aid, not as a long-term solution.
You'll need a scantool to work with it and watch your LTFT and STFT data.
I assume you'll be dialing it DOWN to make up for those overly large fuel injectors? Because I see your tuning going the opposite direction from convention.

Hold on you just confused me hard core,
My blm is at about 110 at idle right now so i need to subtract fuel to bring it closer to 128 correct?
and then it stays around 128 while crusing
then it goes to about 134 at WOT
what numbers should i have and what do they mean?
i will be installing an AEM air fuel ratio gauge to get presice measurements
what target ratio is good for these motors?

Target ratio is Zero. I'm not sure what you mean by 'target'. Properly tuned, an AFC shouldn't be necessary, except as an aid in tuning.
I wouldn't know where to even begin. You're not flowing enough to even need the 36lb injectors, and your PCM isn't tuned to use them in the first place. Throwing another variable on top of that is going to cause you a nightmare.
My suggestion is to go back the 29lb injectors and record your fuel trims with them. If you need adjustments, make them with a new eprom burn. Not an AFC.

I meant where do you your BLM to be, at 128, below, above??
128 = 0 for the LTFT in BLM terms?
i will be having a chip burnt but i want to tune it well enough to drive it around town b4 i get my chip safetly

As I was saying in your other thread, I was using one for a couple years trouble free.
I believe with the 2.2 you have buttons to the left of the LED display vs the switches I had:
One of the buttons/switches (can't remember which) to the left of the display will toggle between advanced mode and the basic mode.
Advanced mode having 13 settings and basic only having one.
If you want switch between the modes, you need to first make the switch on the afc, then turn the car off and back on. When you switch between the modes all info from the previous mode will be lost. This is for switching between modes only not every time you change a setting.
The other button/switch next the the LED display is the edit switch. This will allow you to actually change the values your maf is sending to the pcm.
IIRC, the display will start blinking once you press it.
If your in advanded mode, and the edit is on, you should see the display blink 1 then 100.
If you hit either the right button or the left button under the LED display, the setting points should move up and down respectively. So, if you hit the right button it should blink 2 then 100. Hit the right button agian and it should read 3 then 100 etc.
To change the preset 100 value, hit the middle button under the display. Then you can hit the right button under the display to go above 100% or the left button to go below 100%. Once you have the setting where you want, hit the middle button agian. Then move on to the other 12 points and do the same.
You will obviously be moving your settings down, but how far will bepend on your long term fuel trims. These, you will want to get as close to 128 as possible.
Once you have finished setting all the positions, hit the edit button agian and it should stop flashing.
Thats it.
One of the great advantages of the afc is you have the ability to tune on the fly. I wired mine in the cabin, taping into the pcm, so I didn't have to pop the hood every time I wanted to change a setting.

The BlockLearnMemory is the same as a LongTermFuelTrim.
If your BLM is 110, you want to bump the afc down where you need to.
And don't bother with an a/f gauge unless your getting a wideband o2 to go with it.

You will need to scale it down to get where you want like was said.
Also what did those injectors come from? Are they Series II 3800 injectors? If so they are actually 33lb injectors not 36 like people make them out to be. And if your stockers are 29 (just what I gathered from the rest of the post) going to a 33 isn't much difference and can definately be adjusted for with the AFC. I scaled my 33lb. injectors to work on my car with an AFC 2.2 when the PCM still had the 22lb injector tables in it.

Shawn, the point I'm trying to make is that he had no reason to go bigger than the 29'*, and he'* running these on a stock Trofeo PCM, not an L67 PCM. So the PCM is looking for 21lb injectors? Or whatever smaller injector they came with. Not even the 29'*, much less the 36.
