better than factory struts?
I have a 1990 bonneville, and I've replaced pretty much every suspension part possible, but the quick struts I had made it sit like an f-250, so what did I do? I cut the springs. Now before you freak out I know this is not what your susposed to do really, but it was the best decision I ever made. It made it have a perfect balance between comfort and performance. BUT, I feel like it could be even better if I had some performance struts, does any company make these? I know the demand is next to none beside people like us

Would the kyb struts be able to handle the cut springs better than the Monroe ones? I want to cut another coil and I know the ones I have now won't be able to handle another compression and re installation

I only run the KYB GR2 struts on my cars, and I like them way better than the Monroe ones.
I have cut springs on my Cutty by half a coil, nothing drastic, but the KYBs do a good job I think.

Ws love some KYBs. I think the Excel G is the proper name for those. I put a set of the monroes up front and I was not impressed. So I quickly changed them out for some KYBs. Makes the ride so much better.

I just put KYB Excel G2'* struts on my Bonneville yesterday and I am very happy with the results. They are supposed to be stiffer then OEM struts to help aid old and worn suspensions. I'll have to see how they hold up but I would recommend them.

How important do you think it is to replace the mounts exc... with the KYB. I've read enough to know that'* the way to go, but I have to admit, the convenience of the quick strut offered by Monroe is tempting. Unless of course all that other nickel dime things that are added to the quick strut aren't "really" all that necessary. Any ideas for the springs (outside of cutting them).
