Recently bad bearings in the rotor plate for me. Swapped out the rotors and the audible noise is gone.
There can be some from transmission, valves and lifters.. anything that is noisy.

Exhaust leak near the engine, noisy lifters, something loose tapping the engine, noise from the trans, and other stuff I can't remember.
Oil in the combustion chamber from worn valve seals will cause knock too.

Game.. exhaust is not usually an issue on Series 2 like it is on a Series 1. Intense sells a mat for the trans in case you have knock there.
Todd suggested to me that the easiest way to find false knock is to fill up with a good part of a tank with over 100 octane..that'll show if you have any real knock vs false knock.
