I'm going to start modifying my engine starting in a couple weeks...what are some things that I can have done to it?

I have a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SSE
it'* a V6 3800 Series II engine

As of now all I have done to the engine is:
Custom painted nearly everything that can be painted red and chrome
new alternator
new belts
new spark plug wires

Exhaust and intake are the first areas to hit. Then look at rockers or a cam.
Does your sse have a super charger?

Default sse

no, it does not have a supercharger:( that would make it an ssei...

what should i get for exhaust..that'* what i was planning on doing first after some new spark pllugs and wires and an air intake...

I was thinking Flowmaster 40 series maybe? I'm not sure on what all to get..I want performance but I want a nice deep muscle car sound that'* not too loud...

Thanks,
Chris

No, some other models, SSE or SE even have superchargers. Flowmaster sounds good and feels good. I think Firedevil used a 40 series, but most of us use a 80 series. 40 I think is very loud! For the air intake, if you dont mind doing some work, the honda pipe from autozone can be made to fit our cars.

Not so. Some years the SSE had the option to get an L67 engine (supercharged).

Rogue, did you install the rockers yourself, or did a mechanic put them in? If you did, how long did it take you, if you didnt, how much did it cost?

The 1.6'* went in as part of the cam install.

The 1.9'* went on in about 2 hours. Scott Cook did them and INTENSE charges 150.00 for installs of rockers.
