jr had an interesting point on the trans shifting back into first when this "switch" is activated in third gear at 80+ mph.

Something else, I thought DHP only sold performance PCM'* for the newer 97+ 3800'* (L36/L67). Up through 92-94 (not sure on 95-96) the PCM is located under the dust gaurd on the passenger side of the engine compartment above the coolant reservoir, correct? I've seen the DHP PCM in a newer GTP and Buick Regal GS and its located under their intakes.

I checked an DHP is located in Aurora, IL. If only I had a number I could see what they could do for pre-95 Bonnevilles.

Actually it is located IN the intake. It is moved to under the intake in aftermarket boxes.

They don't make PCM'* for ANY year bonneville. I was told that you can get one custom burned from them for a little extra cash, but everytime I catch Charles Bayer (one of the DHP guys) on ClubGP he never answers when I ask him if they can do that or not, so I am going to assume not. And DHP is located in a bunch of different places because they have independent guys that work for them everywhere. I think there are only like 3 or 4 guys though.

DHP did at one time at least, burn Bonneville PCM'*. I've seen a handful float through here.

I think I mentioned many moons ago it was available but the cost was too great so no one was interested. This option has been around for a long time. I posted it on this board last year I think

The tranny will go to 2nd gear as a default I think. Still waiting for response from my tranny guy.
