Default need help! P0742 code

so about 3 weeks ago i had my transmission rebuilt, the CEL keeps comeing on when the car gets hot or when i drive it for a good amount of time, the code is P0742, TCC System Stuck On. could this be a pcm issue or something other than the torque coneverter, like something outside the tranny seeing as i had it rebuilt?

I have a friend with the same code. So far we feel it'* the TCC/PWM solenoid or a stuck TCC valve. Both involve removing the side cover.

so do you think that this is something that they should have caught when they were rebuilding it? the weird thing is that this is what it did before it was rebuilt. we pulled the transmission and took it down to them, so i was thinking maybe it had something to do with the pcm not being reset or something of that nature, but that was just a thought.

is it even part of the tranny rebuild process to reset the pcm?

yes you have to clear all the trans codes that triggered an engine light in the past such as P0742 and P1811 but those solenoids should have been replaced during the rebuild. it'* a $37 parts that is a PITA to fix when the trans is back in the car

i thought the same thing, so when you say the codes need to be cleared do you mean deleted with a scan tool or is it something different, because ive deleted the code with mine but it will eventually come back..and if it is something else that would make sense because like i said, we pulled the tranny so they never had the car and wouldnt have been able to clear anyting

clearing them with a code scanner does the trick. you just have to get them out of the memory which that does. it eventually comes back because that solednoid is messed up and needs to be replaced. they may have replaced it but it could have been bad out of the box who knows

thats what im scared of, but i guess it happens, so i guess i should take a trip back to the tranny shop, i was looking on zzp and it says there pcm'* have the tcc code deleted, but that wouldnt take care of the problem would it? just wondering because when i do delete the code when im driving the problem goes away. until the cel comes back of course
