How feasible would this be?
I know people have said you can't take a 3800 series 2 n/a engine and slap a supercharger on it and expect it to run like a 3800 */c because of the difference in internals and other factors that makes the 3800 */c diffrent from the 3800 n/a. My questoin is, does this hold true for the Series 1 3800'* like years 93-95? Is there a big diffrence in the series 1 */c and n/a or would it be easier to convert a series 1 n/a to suprercharged if persay you had the following parts to use.
Supercharger, intake manifold, throttle body, injectors, exhaust manifold, pulley assembly and brackets.
I figured i'd need the computer too, or maybe just a chip could fix that, but i was wondering if u guys know if that would be possible to do. The parts are off a 95 buick Riviera.
Also as far as the tranny goes, did the series 1 */c'* use the same 4t60e that the series 1 3800 n/a'* used or was there a difference, like the series 2'* have different trannys?
Thanks
Michael

As far as just bolting on I am unsure. There is more there than just the supercharger so it might be swappable. The pcm would probably be needed as well. One of the only concerns would be the durability of the internl parts. The SSEi'* have upgraded guts to handle extra power. I believe they may also have different compression ratios too, but I am not sure. Just food for thought.

They used a different transaxle it was not the same for the sc and non sc the sc used the HD version known as the 4t60-e HD. The non-Sc used the 4t60-e. I am working on a cheap cheap price on the 4t60-e hd.* right now.

I'm sorry Mike but this is just as infeasable as the Series II'* are! I've done very in depth research on just this type of swap myself (i too wanted a SC on my NA Engine).

Why do you guys want to swap to the */C version of the engine. You could do a custom setup for the same price, IE a Centrfigal */C, or a Turbo. The internals can handle some power its all a matter of tuning it so that it does not detonate or go beyond its limits. I plan on putting on a power adder on my car and when it blows, I will rebuild it stronger.

I know its prohibitive but try suggesting the zz performance unit. It is a great unit and basically how much it will cost to add real power to our non-sc cars. So if a person says I want a sc on my non sc Bonneville that’* the solution.
