Removing the catalytic converter?
So the other day i helped my buddy put a side pipe on his ranger and removed the cat. I was thinking about doing it to my car just for fun. I heard it improves fuel milage and performance. I know its illegal. I was just wondering if anybody did it to their bonne.

There has been a few that has done the cat delete and a few of us that switched to a high flow cat. In doing so, you wont necessarily see much of a MPG improvement, unless your current cat is plugged up.
You will notice a slight improvement in throttle response but not any true horsepower gains without further mods.

Yeah the only thing you would be doing is setting off you SES light and making your car illgeal. Be better to look it replacing the front exhaust manifold with something more free flowing. Could look into the cross over too. No need to bug out your PCM just yet until you get some power moving.

Removing the cat the pcm might bug out, lose horsepower and may go lean. You will loose more low end torque then anything else. Better sound is subjective and what you are into. Removing the cat will most likely make it more raspy. and increase the volume a bit.

I dont think i want to put anymore money into it at the moment. I looked up some free flow cats and they can be a little pricey. My mufflers rusted out so i guess ill worry about that first before i sell it.
