heres the question of questions, i want my bonny to go faster, what are some inexpensive ways to make my car faster? i've got a minimal budget, about 300 dollars. i've already got a CAI comming what else can i do? any help would be appreciated! thanks guys!

First thing you need to do is purchase a Scantool, check for KR, pull off your Exhaust manifolds and throughly check for cracks, they can be very small and unnoticeable. Fix found cracks, then find a fuel pressure gauge and check for proper pressure. THEN you can start with modding.

Moving to Performance and Brainstorming.

Get a good tune up to regain some of the hp you may have lost.

i've already got done the tune up done. new plugs, wires, oil and a 3m injector clean. i'll tell ya what maybe i should just go out a get a sqweet GTO like yours, what a car!

Scantool (even get them on the cheap like less than $70 on ebay)
Pulleys ($70 or so a piece new, $50 used)
Pulley Puller from napa
Fuel Pressure Gauge preferably with a 10 foot hose so you can drive with it.
Fuel Filter..you probably need one.
high flow cat ($50 on ebay for the magnaflow)

I'd like to know more about the intake, it may be hurting you depending on what you have. I have this problem in the hot temps since my filter is not properly shielded I get mad heatsoak.

my CAI is just what the forum here said to get. i've got a 3 inch polished intaketube and cone style k & n air filter I'll have to drill a hole in the base for the IAT sensor. i've also got alot of plexy glass for the box to stop the heat soak.i havent started constructions yet, i'm gonna mock it up and construct it a while before i actually install the CAI.

On that intake, get it insulated from the engine bay with your box or heatshield before any pulley mods. You can't afford to suck in hot engine bay air. Once that intake is done, install a drilled 180 degree thermostat, and inspect yoru exhaust manifolds for cracks. They are VERY hard to see. If all looks well at that point, get your scantool, and check for KR on a warm/hot day. Assuming you have none, check your fuel pressure.

If all still looks good, the SC pulley will be your next step.

Smaller pulleys on the Series 1 L67'* used to be somewhat plug/play. As the years have gone by, we've seen more and more have KR problems. These problems are usually related to either weak fuel pressure as our pumps begin to age, or cracks in the exhaust manifold.

is there anywhere in particular that the exhaust manifolds crack at? also would the car benefit from having the intake polished, i've noticed that alot of people have problems with the intake manifold gaskets and im gonna change those and get that out of the way. this is the first factory */c car ive ever had.

Little things first. Intake polished? What intake? Intake pipe? Manifold? Where in the manifold? Polishing is one thing, porting is another. What have you heard specifically?

Gaskets? Wrong engine. Wrong coolant too. Series 2 cars with the orange DexCool have gasket problems, but to be honest, if you're thinking about modding your car, you should still replace all your gaskets from the LIM up before starting.

As far as Exhaust Manifold cracks are concerned, I've heard a few 92-95 supercharged owners say they don't have them, but that'* usually because they simply couldn't see them. Here'* some examples from one of my cars. The other car (supercharged also, but unmodded) has cracks similar to this also, but not as bad:











The bit issue here is that you won't be able to see these cracks with the manifolds installed on the car. You HAVE to remove them to find them.
