Default turbo question

OK..my sister has a PT cruiser turbo...the factory 'turbo' on it seems to be nothing more than a snub nose hair dryer located between the TB and airbox...infact it looks alot like the heater blowers i had on a '74 VW Bus....i'm sure you all know what sort of turbo i'm talking about..lol

OK..now the question...would this sort of 'turbo' set up benefit my Bonne'* performance any?...do those type of turbo'* do any good on anything?

basically it takes the exhaust gas makes the turbo spin, when the turbo spins it pul;* in air forcing it in the TB

it would take alot of work on the bonne to make it effective

well that turbo, among other things im sure, seems to benefit the PT cruiser by about 70hp and 80ft lbs of torque...so it must be more than a hair dryer

This about the same size as the SRT-4 , but with a lower pressure setup.

This turbo will give you quicker torque than a bigger turbo, while spending money to custom fit it, you better put a bigger turbo that give more top end power.IMO

The best thing to do is dyno your car, find it'* volumetric efficiency vs. rpm, decide where you want to make power, then size a turbo accordingly.
