Default Stock computer limits?

How much modding will the stock ECU compensate for on my '93 SSE */C? Thinking about intake, exhaust, and pully, maybe port and polish later on. I'm not a real "fuel injected" kinda guy

It'll go pretty far, but a Jet chip, or a custom DHP will do you wonders. Superchips are worthless, no one'* even felt a difference.

Agreed. You'll have to buy the SSEi Jet, though. The SSE chip won't work for you if you're SC.

Minimum requirements are intake, exhaust, and 180° thermostat before the Jet stage 2.

The STOCK ECU will let you modify your car slighty. I've changed the Air Intake system, Exhaust & Spark on my own 92 SE without changing the EPROM in the ECU. The ECU in any GM is preset with "DEFAULT" settings or parameters for what the GM engineeers think is "Optimum Performance". The ECU will compensate slightly for various changes done to engine to get back to these "default" settings when it can. If it can't get back to the preset conditions, sometimes a CES light will come on & register a "Soft" code. A "Soft" code is nothing really to worry about as it'* not a fault in any component (that'* a "Hard" code).

We've had two or three members try them, but I think all were 92-94. Most weren't impressed. It'* possible SChips found a way to eke more out of the Series 2.

hmm, I'll definately go with a custom burned chip (i don't belive in generic performance chips)

on my other one i just went to a ford standalone type system... compensates in real time via MAF sensor. It sux though because i had to go to all mechanical gauges.

Supposedly they were supposed to be able to pull 15-20 horses out of the hat... Not sure about torque... But it was supposed to help that too..
Are these the same chips that were on EBAY, that SUPPOSEDLY added HP and Tourque, but once installed, the ECM compensated for the changes, and you were right back at square one with a stock car?
What kind of exhaust mods are needed in compliance with the Jet Stage 2?
All ive got so far is my Performance CAT.

No, we're talking about REAL eproms or adapters here. The cheapos on Ebay are simply IAT 'trickers'.
