custom hi/lo radiator fan override 92-93
I've saw post about a fan overide. Moslty for the 95-96'*. What about the 92 - 93'* ?
Will, I saw you have the fan overide. Is it manual ? Did you just install a switch ? or is it thermostatically controlled ? Can I fool the PCM someway and get those fans to turn on sooner ? I think the stock fans come on at like 225 or something ... I can just about hear my engine baking at that temp. I'm having a hard time finding a chip to turn them on sooner. My first call to Jet wasn't very successfull.

And the PCM doesn't control the fan turnon. At least not on a 93. There'* a thermocouple mounted on one of the fans

The PCM actually watches the low speed fan relay for the proper voltage.
How does it know to go from high to low ?

According to the 93 FSM which I don't have right in front of me, the fans come on lo-speed at a set temp based on the input to the PCM from the thermocouple on the driver'* side fan.
Any time the AC compressor is on, the fans are both Hi-speed. There may be other conditions for fan turn on as well. Someone double-check me on this.

So, if I'm reading this right. I could install a resistor at the thermocoupler to make the PCM believe it is hotter than it actually is ? I may get an adjsutable resistor and wire it up and see what happens.

OK... it works off the temp sensor then ? I got the FSM'*. I see the resistor symbol ....
I just think I can go to Radio Shack and get a 1\2 ohm resistor wire it in .. and badda bing .. I got fans that turn on at a lower temp. Then again .. it may melt.
