Default SSEI oil pressure

What should be the oil pressure for this engine. Min drops to 20-25 at idle and goes up to 40 at highway speeds.

Does anyone know of a high volumne pump for this motor??? I alway ran my smallblock chevys at around 60-80psi.

Pressures this low make me a bit nervous.......

i use the k&n 1001 filter. it'* easy to get on and off and i think i noticed a difference at higher rpm. My roomate changed on his 00 SS camaro and thought he pick up a little on the high end also. But we are not sure if it'* mental or for real. Also we run royal purple street formula oil

Try going with the K&N oil filter. They cost a few bucks more but they are worth it! They last twice as long and filter much better than AC'* piece. I've tried most of them, Fram, AC, Pennzoil (sp?), I have had nothing but good from the K&N. The pressure seems to stay more consistent.

I am using K&N oil...I didn't really notice any psi change....Maybe your (or my) gauges aren't necessarily correct...

Default Funky oil pressure

Ok... Now this is getting really weird. After the car is warmed up and sitting at idle.... 15 PSI , Take off and cruise .... 35 PSI ..... WOT 6000RPM 100+ PSI .... Is this a sending unit problem or a oil pump problem or a guage problem...?

ok you guys i think its the cars not the filters, on my last car a 96 cougar i always used fram filters and my oil psi was always about 60. Now that i have my bonneville it seems like its always 40 psi around town and about 60 highway and thats with a factory filter. My oil change is coming up and i will be putting on the good old cheap fram filter from Wal-Mart.

I have the same thing going on w/ my car. When i first start it up and start driving it'* all good but after a while when the car warms up the psi starts to drop. When i drive it'* at 40 but when i slow down the psi drops down to 20. I'm getting my car inspected on friday and i'm gonna get my oil+filter changed. I'll get the acdelco one and let you guys know what went down.

Default Oil Pressure

Well I've decided to replace the sending unit and at the same time, hook up a mechaniical SW guage under the hood to check the accuracy. If I'm going to the track .... and crank it up... I'd better know what it is for sure....
