Pedal "shoes"...?
I'm not sure this qualifies as a 'performance' Topic.
During my recent spending spree, I picked up some Pilot pedal dress up units, whatever they're called, and thought about putting them on.
I looked at the instructions and am now leaning toward NOT putting anything on the pedals, no matter how they are attached, for safety reasons.
I can't imagine these things being as secure as they need to be, and if one were to have an accident due to the failure of the attachments, all kinds of hell would break loose.
(...it might be cheaper in the long run to get my money back...)
Does or has anyone here used these?
What are your thoughts on them?

pedal covers
I put a set of these on my car and they've held on just fine. I had safety concerns like you said but once again, they've held on fine. Oh and my directions said to remove the rubber from the brake but, I had to leave mine on in order for the pedal cover to fit.

Dunno for sure.......
Seems to me that it would depend entirely on how they attach.....
I remember those from a lonnnnnnng time ago.........just had thin "straplike" metal that wrapped around the existing pedal......kept coming loose
I never got them to work right......
Todays could be completely different.......
But.....if it doesn't attach very securely........it may very well be a safety issue
Good luck
I meant to ask........How much RWHP do you figger those give you?????.......

Well, since it'* a FWD car, I can use all the RWHP I can get!
But, seriously, folks --- ba-da-boomp...
If these are going to be any kind of safety factor in the negative sense, I'll not even take them out of the package...hence the reason for my asking this now.
They're still 'in the box', so I can return them without having tried an installation.
I'll leave this up for a couple of more days to see if there'* more feedback.
If it looks or feels like the pedals won't be a good idea, I'll take 'em back unused.

I've got a set and have had no problems with it. They also have the metal straps on the back. I bought them for $10. If you get em nice and tight there shouldn't be a problem. But these aren't anything you NEED, so if they're unopened, take em back.

Hey, those look good.
NEED vs. WANT is a topic my Wife & I discuss often.
Did you leave the factory rubber pedal covers on before you placed on the custom units?
Did you use any kind of thread locker for the pedal cover screws?
Sometimes the 'look' is what is 'needed'...
This is a pic of what I found and bought: part# PM-204

I put these right over the factory setup. Not glue or locktite on the screws. Seem to be holding up fine, and i've had them on for at least 6 monthes
