Default Which cat model.... and install $

Time for a new cat. I want to pick up a Magnaflow, but i want to pick up the easiest to install.
I went through most of the posts for model numbers and didn't find anything conclusive for the SE NA L36 crowd. . The reason I'm asking is there are 2 cat body sizes for the 2.25 pipe.

Normal

and small
http://www.car-sound.com/catalog/universal/941.aspx

Which size is closest to us and any ideas on the cost of the install by a good exhaust shop. Figurin' $60/hr. Stock resonator and muffler stays for now. I'll have to ask later about a single in/single out muffler after I hear it with the Hi-Flo cat.

Thanks guys.

SE'* are 2.25". But 2.5" cats can be used with reducers.

You need the smaller body.

I thought the SSE(i) was 2.5. I know the pipe to my muffler/ in is 2.25. I assumed the DP to the cat would be 2.25 also.??

Measure it yourself. Don't trust anyone'* ideas. There'* some odd differences on some cars for no apparent reason.

Ok, i'll get under and check. If it is 2.5, I don't want to draw the flow down to 2.25.

I did around the muffler. The in was 2.25, but the out was 2.0. I haven't seen that mentioned before. Wierd

Thanks guys..

The cat model recommended by the 'Application Finder' on the CarSound site is the 91006, which is 2.5" in/out. You would have to order the 91036 to get the O2 boss. It says the engine size limit for that cat is 256ci with a vehicle weight of 4500lbs. Seems like that'* not much headroom with our cars, but I don't know anything about cat converters. Would it be wise to get something that'* a little bigger or could handle more displacement?

And yes, I know we only have 231ci motors

So he would need the 91006. Is that cat big enough? In an application like mine, where I'm making a few extra horses, would it be ideal to use something a little bigger?

No ideas here, guys? All I want to know is whether it'* better to get a cat converter with a bigger or smaller body. Do you want it as small as possible for the engine size, or is it better to have some 'head room'?
