Can you do us a favor and let us know the brand of the filter? Looks like a knockoff to me. Most knockoff'* we've seen on this Forum actually hold water.
No kidding.

It is, it'* just a cheap APC. I tried looking for a K&N but none of them had the opening at the end like I wanted. I shouldn't have to worry about water with it being up in the engine bay, should I? The guy at Advance Auto said for my application, there wouldn't be that big of a difference between this filter and a K&N.
If it really does make that much of a difference with the flow, then I'd be willing to go and pick up a good K&N filter of some sort to fit my pipe, although that would make my ram air somewhat more useless.

If it holds water, how can it flow air? I'm not worried about it gettin wet. I used that description in order to get the flow idea across.
Many moons (3 years?) ago, I was up in WA State working on DrJay'* 93 SSEi. I took his APC filter into the kitchen and filled it with water. It barely flowed out.
We then went to AZ and picked up a K&N.

Well...
I went to various auto stores and no one seems to be able to find a K&N filter that would fit my pipe. NAPA said they'd be able to order one for me. What is the best model number filter you could recommend? My pipe'* diameter is 3".
I did, however, pick up some Beldin Premium wires. I can cross that off my list.

Thanks. I'll probably do this in a couple of weeks so that someone doesn't get upset about how much I'm spending on the car!

Also..to address part of what you said about the engine bay not getting wet. Rain flows right through the radiator and through the engine bay.
"Honey... it will break the car when it gets wet, the K&N is a special proven waterproof filter"
