Spark Plugs
Hey gang. I am about to install my MSD Coils and Taylor wires. I was wondering what everyone'* experience was with different spark plugs. I ran splitfires in my fiat, and it made a slight improvement in mileage. Anyone care to make suggestions?

Splitfires are my temporary fix, and they seem to be just fine. But I third the notion towards AC Delco. I'll be getting some as soon as the snow melts.

ac delco plat. are double plat. but they have one fall back, i have done alot of tune ups that the plat. on the ground strap is missing, it falls off., when this happens , it greatly opens the gap and over works the coils.coils are lazy, they only work as hard as they need to. myself, i have NGK iridium plugs in my bonny. they are definitly different than the AC delco plugs.

Don't believe the hype.
there are tons of gimicks and few diferences. (at least where performance is concerned)
there are lots of factors ie. mods,wires,ignition ect.
Cars have diferent preferences acording to there spark setup.
dont get plugs that look cool or sound great!
Get plugs that work well in bonnies like yours.
my bonnie likes NGK.

definitly on the button with that.
plat. plugs are used for extended life. if it stays attched to the electrode and the ground strap, they have a higher melting point then the steel that the rest of the plug metal.
take a good look at a reg. plug after its been run for 30,000 miles. you will see the roundness of the electrode where it has melted away. plat. plugs dont do this.
iridium plugs are used for an intense fire power. the electrode is much smaller to give you a hotter spark without the heat build up that causes detonation.

I used AC-Delco Iridiums, along with Taylor 8mm. wires. And how would NGK-Iridiums be different be from AC-Delco Iridiums, their made by AC-Delco. The NGK spark plugs, on the side said AC-Delco on them.

i just got a set of NGK iridium plugs and didnt see ac on them anywhere. i just looked on ac delco'* on line cat. and the best plug that they list is the professional double plat. i went to the ac delso site and did a cross ref to the NGK part number for my car which is 7164, (napa part # NGK7164) and it comes up with no cross ref. for that ngk number. i also took this from the ngk site too:
