Default Thermostat/ High Flow Catalyic Coverter

Hey does anybody know what type of thermostat i should put on my 95 ssei, I have a cold airintake, catback exhaust 2.5", 2.5"supercharger pulley, possibly superchip in the spring. What T-stat should I get 160 or 180 and where can I order that off the net,? And what is a good catalyic converter to purchase, highflow possibly, I live in Onatario Canada and we have to have our cars emmision tested every 2 years, I know my cat has broken all up beacuse when i rev it up high i hear a crazy rattling noise and its not the heat shield? Does anybody know where I can get a decent cat on the net as well? Thanks for your help hope to her back.

As for the thermostat, you should get a 180 degree. 160 is too cool for the 3800s.

Also, you shouldn't free rev your engine like that. That'* the worst thing you can do for it. To check the catalytic converter, shake it. Obviously you'll want to make sure the car is well cooled down before you do. If it rattles then it'* failing.

A lot of people use Carsound cats. I have one on mine. Occationally it will throw a code for me, if I am not mistaking, you don't have a rear O2 sensor, so you don't have to worry about it.

Magnaflow makes the carsound cats, and I run one with no problems. Excellent choice.

Superchips? If that'* your only option, go for it, but they don't have the greatest reputations with L67'*. Then again, the hybrid 94/95 PCM'* don't leave you much choice.

180° thermostat.

For the best price on a Magnaflow/Carsound high flow catalytic convertor go to www.justmagnaflow.com and save money. I question whether you will get the free shipping on a purchase over $50 due to you being in Canada.

While I agree on your recommendation of a 180 for his application I disagree with the statment regarding the 160. Its too cold for his current setup but it does nicely in other setups that warrant it.

You've got that backwards Bill;

Magnaflow is made by Car Sound Exhaust System, Inc., this line is also marketed in Canada under the 'Shultz' brand.

I have the 94009 cat, very happy with it.

Cheers,
