Default Removal: air box

I went to remve my intake air box today and noticed wires going to the air box. Is that an intake temp sensor? If I decide to get a performance intake how do I go about removing those wires and the sensor?

Thats pretty easy, I think that should be your IAT sensor. You can put that onto the new intake. May require some cutting on your part though.

Would I need to, or could I get rid of it all together? I was also wondering how to get rid of the wires alltogether if the sensor is eleminated.

This is either not very clear, or very poor advice. Your car needs this sensor. Drill a hole in the new intake for the sensor.

To pull the sensor out of the box, there'* a clip underneath that holds the sensor in the hole. Pull on it so it'* not holding it in, and then pull

Mine is a 1/4 turn counter-clockwise. If you want to know how to remove it, open the box, remove the filter, and look inside. You'll probably figure it out. Disconnect the wiring harness first so you don't break a wire.
