Default Stainless Air Intake

Hey guys....

Got tired of looking for a good (low priced) CAI tube... so I had this one made for me. I am going to make another 10 if there is interest. Price would be $100. It'* made from 302 Stainless 3.5" x .062 wall tubing mandrel bent and I polish it.

Take a look at the links. Hole placement for the IAT is about half way to the filter. You supply thr Filter. It uses the K&N #RU-3130 and costs about $30

So... Any interest???

Sounds like what I did. For a little more glammer send each tube to http://performancecoatings.com/ They can put a nice finish on there and really make it look professional. I got a Cermachrome finish, cost a little over 20 US dollars.

So the chrome finish they put on the pipe also helps deflect heat?

"Cermachrome (*ūrm - a - krōme) Ceramic Exhaust Coating is the most popular kind of coating on the market today. This type of coating (metallic ceramic) is used by more companies and manufacturers than any other material. It is extremely popular on exhaust systems, where the high luster finish provides a very attractive, durable surface. The high temperature characteristics of ceramics have been combined with metallic frits to create a coating that can withstand metal temperatures in excess of 1300° F and provides 5000 hr. salt spray protection.
A truly unique coating that is based on a water/solvent system, it may be applied to a variety of surfaces and metals such as exhaust system components, brackets, valve covers, hinges, grills, suspension parts or any metal part that can withstand the 500° F cure temperatures. It polishes to a high luster, stainless/chrome appearance that will not rust, and is especially effective as a hard protective coating for aluminum parts."

That'* taken right from their site. They also have other coatings in which you can have a color coating.
