Tranny Temp
Well i finally got it in after a lot of trouble with the sender unit. The sender unit that came with mine was faily long. THe first time i out it in it didn't go very far, maybe about 3 threads deep and it was leaking really bad, so i took it out put teflon tape on it and tried putting it in more, well, this messed up the thread on the sender unit. So i got the thread fixed it with a die set, and tried putting it in again but the thread wouldn't even catch. I noticed that inside the transmission there is a little lip at the bottom on the hole, and the diameter of the sender unit was too big and was getting caught on that lip not allowing the unit to go in very far. So what i had to do was basically sit there with a file and sand the diameter down on the sender unit. THat was the only was it was going to fit, i dont think it'* going to affect the reading of the temperature, and i tried it last night and it worked fine, it was giving me reading. It took about a week of messing around to figure that out. So anyone else that buys a tranny temp gauge and has trouble putting in the sending unit this could be your problem.

What is a good temperature for the transmission. A guy at the local shop said if i keep it below 225 the torque converter should last a very long time. I have nothing to worry about in winter because it'* about -20 here on average. Sometimes even colder.
