Low Cost Intake Hose
I found this stuff a while ago, but forgot to tell anybody. It is from the US Plastic Corporation, listed on their Flexible Hose and Duct page. There are a few options that qualify for different heat ranges, and I believe the "RFH General Purpose Flexible Hose" would work nicely for FWI and similar air intake setups. It can range from -60 to 275 degrees Fahrenheit, which seems like it might be able to withstand underhood temps. Maybe I'm totally wrong, though. Perhaps someone can put together a group order, since the minimum length available is a 25 foot section. Hope this provides us with another option for intakes!
EDIT: It is also my understanding that this hose/duct is smooth-walled.
SECOND EDIT: I just checked Intense'* website, and their tubing has a temperature rating of -40 to 250. The tubing listed in my link exceeds these specifications, so if it is smooth-walled, it is only about 1/3 the cost per foot of Intense'* tubing.

C'mon guys, it'* only $114.24 w/discount plus shipping ($24.27 for me). Do you want me to buy some? You'll have to pay me my costs, a nominal cut fee, plus the shipping for your length.

Please tell me you verified that the interior has smooth walls...... I wasn't positive, if you recall my wording, and I would hate for it to arrive and be the useless crinkle stuff. I know a few of the other varieties of tubing listed on that page has smooth walls, but I'm not 100% positive about the stuff you ordered.

I actually saw that same product/website when I was looking for an alternative to the intense tubing. Looks like I just missed the boat...oh well. Good idea though if you can get several people on board!!

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I missed the boat cause I just did my own intake last week.

It also just occurred to me.... were you guys talking about using the 4" stuff? I was thinking the 3" would be the ideal size to use. Also, what'* the plan for connecting this stuff to the throttle body? I haven't really seen how the Intense tubing attaches yet.
