The limiter is set to the rating of the stock tires that your car came with. I have an SE with the SSEi drivetrain (from the factory), but I am pretty sure that my limiter is set to around 108. The SSEi'* were set to around 127. Your Toronado was a premium car (like the SSEi), so it probably came with speed rated tires. Check the door jam sticker for the tire specs. This will give you an idea of what your car'* speed limiter is set at.

As far as the valvetrain, That is what Jr's3800 is asserting. It hasn't been done on this forum yet, so there is no 100% on this.

BTW, The 3800 was a Buick derivative (from the 3., but the 1985 (?) Toronado was the first car to receive the FWD version. Correct me if I'm wrong. The Toronado was a test platform for many of GM'* ideas. It was a very nice ride.

heh.....Ill have to hold it a little longer on i-96 i guess
the toronado was americas 1st mass produced front whell drive car since the auburns of the 20'* 30'* 1966 was the first year.
the 66'* had a 425 under the hood. I have one and my parnets have one as well. mine has like a 1968 455cid 4bbl under the hood.. not my doing but it happened when it was in cali i guess.
yes toronados where the test subject for a lot og GM inovations.
i.e. front wheel drive, AIR BAGS FOR DRIVER/PASS cant remember which. in the 70'* they came with t-tops, airbags, 3rd and 4th brake lights under the rear windows ...

heh..way to drag this post way off topic
