Default Gears?

This summer i was planning on getting a 3800 stall converter. It would help out my 1/4 alot but, I'm probably not going to because of all the clutch/hard part wear i'll have. Not to mention the fun time i'd have if i got stuck in the snow.
So, i'm leaning more torwards gears. I can get 3.33 gears or 3.73'*. Either way i'll have to recalibrate my speedo.
So far i have my mind set of the 3.33'* cause i'm afriad of the 3.73'* being overkill.
What do you guys think?
I'm also planning on keeping my tranny attached to my motor and dropping my subframe to get the the cover. <--- Good idea, Bad idea, impossible?
I've got a 3.06 FDR now and the company i'm getting the gears from is http://www.engineered.net/.

3.33 should be fine,I am sure that will make enough of a difference.

If the 88-91 could push a 3.33, i bet you can push a 3.73 decently.

With 3.73 gears i'll be going 66 mph at 3000 rpms.
With 3.33 gears i'll be going 74 mph at 3000 rpms.
With 3.06 gears i'm going 80 mph.

At least according to
http://www.et-studios.com/motorsports/gears/gears.html
and
http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html

Either one will kill your fuel economy, so if you do a lot of highway driving, it will effect it severely... however merging on the highway will be fun, fun, fun

NO. You forgot to factor in that you have an overdrive transmission (NOT 1:1 final drive), and it also looks like you used the wrong overall tire height. 3000 rpms at 66 mph would be valid with no overdrive and 27" tall tires. You don't have either of these case scenarios. 225/60 15s, or 215/65 15s, or 205/70/15s are all only approx. 25.6" tall I don't know the 4T60E'* overdrive ratio off the top of my head, but it'* around 0.8 according to the rpms I run with 2.84s. With 3.73s, an 0.8 overdrive and 25.6" tall tires, you would be spinning approx 2500 rpms at 65 mph. Not bad at all. I run 3.73s in my 327 powered camaro, with a 1:1 trans ratio in 4th gear (manual) and I spin around 3200 at 70 mph. Do you have a series I or series II? The full roller series II would definitely have no problem cruising at higher rpms. The series I shouldn't have a big problem either, 2500 cruise is not a big deal. If you are running a taller tire (16" wheels) the cruise at 65 mph will be even lower with 3.73s

Overdrive just means a gear that has a ratio of lower then 1:1. These are 4 speed tranny'* with lockup however.

It'* all up to what you wanna do with it really. a raised redline will help with deep gears as well, Jim'* Aurora with a 3.71 pulls damn nicely and gets good milage.
