Default Want to get a high flow cat

i have an 02 bonnie sle and want to get a magnaflow high flow cat....Ive searched on the site and cant really find one that shows what exact part number i need...Im going to get it from jegs.So do i need a round, oval, or oval with air tube. And what size should i get? Are these magnaflow high flow cats oem direct fit? How much of a difference will this make as far as sound and performance? I do have res removed and 2 aftermarket mufflers.

You can typically find a direct fit at a much higher cost or look under to see if you need an air tube and then order a 2.5" (SC models) and you are all set.

i would suggest cutting the cat off and welding in some pipe and turning off the check engine light with your tuner

Actually that is quite illegal and punishable by law. Plus it kills low end power.

It'* not that the cops are out patrolling for cat-less oldsmobiles. That does not matter either way, the fact is that it is ILLEGAL and should NOT be recommended for full time, on road use. Also, many people here are very into modding their cars, and when they say that it kills low end power, it should be believed that it does just that. Maybe you had some problems with your cat that caused power loss and you gained it back by removing the cat ( plugged ) but a properly functioning cat is the way to go. Currently I am running without a cat, and I plan on getting one back on asap.

You WILL lose low end power if you switch from a cat to a straight pipe. There'* COUNTLESS testimonials on here. Our stock exhaust is actually quite good. Generally you'll want to address other performance areas first.
