Default O2 Tuning

So prior to installing my new Wideband O2 sensor and A/F gauge, I had turned my fuel pressure up about 10 psi for fear of running lean.

Now with the accurate indication of a very rich 9.5 under WOT, I turned it down to about 8 psi higher than stock and the gauge shows 10.9 under WOT.

I just turned it down again to about 6 psi higher than stock and will see how close to the optimum 12.5 - 13.3 A/F ratio.

I do however still have a part throttle lean condition that I don't know what to do about. :? ...........maybe it'* normal ??

I had to jack my fuel pressure late yesterday on the Zilla to fix a mid-high range stumble, but it cost me an over-rich condition on start (hard to start) and low-rpm'*.

Solution? Look at the wideband fueling (AFR) based on rpm'* and fix it with either a change in fuel injectors and/or PCM tuning. That'* where I'm going next.

Bottom line is that an adjustment for one rpm range may cause an issue at another. Fix the HARDWARE first (IE: fuel injectors), THEN custom tune for them.

Could I use someone elses Tuner at WCBF..............PDad :?:

Not that I can't afford to buy one..........I just have no desire (or patience) to safely and confidently tune myself.

In that case..you may want to swap back to the Gen 3 blower setup. This is by no means a knock or dig. The more power we generate, the closer to the edge we get, the more need for continual scanning and tweaking of the tune. Gen 3 is much safter for longevity. The KR you have seen lately can cause serious damage requiring a motor being pulled. (C'mon down..we can have it out in ~3 hours )

I fully expect to be tuning and tweaking my car most of the summer. As temps increase I will most likely have a "fat" or safe tune in place for no worries when AC is more important than 1/4 mile times. When the temps and humidity drops..it will become a more aggressive tune.

I'm not swapping back to the Gen 3. Nice try Billy boy.

Looks like I'll either have to order that 3.6" pulley or run the water injection full time.

Normal throttle application shows a consistent 14.6 on the gauge, so as long as I can control my right foot and keep an eye on my gauges, it should survive.

It will be interesting this summer down in Oregon where I never see those ultra high temps.

Maybe I'll be getting towed again this year, for another reason.

Anything to keep the problems down. That'* the wise move. I don't want to beat your 1/4 pb because your car blew up at the track.

11.5-11.8 is where you want to hit AFR for your motor. 12+ is way to lean to make good safe power.

Thanks for the advice Rogue.
