94 SSEi Magnaflow setup?
I am looking at buying a Magnaflow cat -
ZZ Performance
And this magnaflow muffler-
Amazon.com: MagnaFlow 14266 Polished Stainless Steel Oval Muffler: Automotive
I was also thinking...Once they are both in, would my car be extremely loud&annoying if i removed the res, or would removing the res give it a better sound? Or, would a Magnaflow res be even better?
Say, this one-
ZZ Performance
Thanks guys.
(I've also heard of guys keeping the stock muffler and adding a magnaflow res+cat. Is this a terrible idea?

exhaust is a complete preferable thing. A resinator keeps down the annoying rasp. stock res is not your performance week point so you can keep it does the job well. A high flow cat will increase your sound. anything you do will change it just how extreme you want.

If you want the car to breath better, then don't worry so much about the muffler. Concentrate from the exhaust manifold back to the cat. Most of your restrictions are in this area. A resonator is a matter of choice, but as Nighthawk said, it will tone down the raspy sound that a hi-flow exhaust system will throw out.
What may be loud and annoying to you, might be music to another persons ear so nobody will be able to provide you a qualified answer on whether or not exhaust parts will be too loud or obnoxious.

So so true. I remember when i took out the mufflers and cats and just put in and welded pipes.the first time i turned on that car it was heaven for me. I remember revving it and hearing that thunder (rasp) rumble from my pipes it was freaking awesome.

I have the same magnaflow too and love it, you can usually get a used one on ebay or cragislist. I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 36402. Also some of the forum sponsors selling magnaflow usually have a sale going on. Either way its a great cat, sounds great, and very easy to install.

The free flow cat will help the engine breath, and will deepen the tone a bit. Look for a series80 muffler, these tend to have the best tone on these engines, for a single muffler. Unless your rez is falling apart, I wouldn't even worry about it.
