Default Lowering a 92-99 Bonne with auto leveling susp.

If you were to make the little bar that attaches to the ride height sensor a little shorter and then while the car is on lift it in the air and then lower it back down do you suppose it would trick the car into thinking it had to leave a little less air in the rear bags and lower the rear a tad bit???? If this worked you could do it and get some front coils and actually LOWER an auto levaling car!!!!!! If anyone has tryed this please tell me if it worked of im just dreamin again. I would love to lower my Bonne by about 1-2 inches but i really like the auto levalling rear suspension and want to keep its usefullness.

I know something like that would work on a Lincoln towncars system, because if you lift one of those with out turning off the switch it will slam its back end to the ground like its got hydros!!! (New technitions in my shop have made this mistake in the past, luckily without any exploding when they air back up!!!!)

you wouldn't be able to lower it by that much. Both of my rear air struts are blown and the car still doesn't sit that low to the ground. Basically, you can disconnect the air hose going to each shock and that will tell you how low it'* going to get. It'* not too low though.

you can try it out.. just slide the metal clip off a little bit (not totally off) and disconnect the air hoses from the shocks. if it'* like mine, it'll drop instantly. lol. Riviera struts aren't the same as yoru year bonneville, but they're identical to the 2000+ models.
