Would it be possible to take a whole setup off a totaled vehicle such as a Toyota Venza (I know its a new vehicle, just using it as an example). The Venze uses an RFID chip in the keyfob to detect when your in it. The push button won't work unless the keyfob is within so many feet.

It all depends on the system. If that part of the system is fairly stand alone and only needs power, they it'* possible. Most likely though it'* quite integrated and wouldn't be an easy swap.

for the size of that module I bet your key either goes inside it or has a blank transponder chip that must be programed in (kinda like a remote start bypass)
00+ Bonneville'* have PK3 and will NOT start without some type of key or bypass. the system I'm sure is simple to install.
