Default Port/ polishing throttle bodies

I was reading an article in a mag called GMMT ( GENERAL MOTORS SOMETHING TECH), whatever, anyway, before I went into the dentist. What caught my eye was this article about porting and polishing throttle bodies, and how much HP it adds to the rear wheels thru the dyno. I wanted to snag the mag when I got out, but was groggy from the juice, and forgot it. Anyway, anybody ever heard of such a thing. They were talking about the new LS motors, but I was wondering if it could/would hold true for all TB.

It should as long as the mating surface on the intake is matched to the same diameter. But our TBs are pretty good to start.

It won't put any power to the rear wheels

There are other things you could P&P for more power.

P&Ping the TB sounds like a good idea. That is where the air first enters the engine. Letting a lot more in will do wonders. It'* like taking off the restrictor plate in a NASCAR stock car.

I believe that ZZperformance already does this. And they sell TB'* for it as well. I dunno about L27'*, but L36 and 67 for sure.

BTW moderators, this should be moved to performance/brainstorming.

check out www.zzperformance.com and www.intenseracing.com for options for the L36 and L67.

We have the ZZP Stage 2 TB on the GTP and it added almost 1psi boost. It made a huge difference in throttle response, and flows A LOT of air. It wouldn't do as much good without the inlet of the supercharger ported to match it though. The supercharger on the GTP has a ported intake, which compliments the ported throttle body, making it flow more air.

Its a good mod for any car. I'm looking for one for my STE, especially since the air coming into the throttle body comes straight from the turbo (well intercooler actually), so its under pressure. Opening it up even just a little, should make a significan't difference with boost, at least I would think.

I would definately look into it if I were you.
