I have to disagree, here. The Turbocoupe 4 was the same engine that they used in the Mustang SVO. I've run a few of those back in the day (I worked as a lot porter for a Ford dealer in high school) and I can say that they are not what you might claim. Unless the turbo has been replaced with the larger version with the water intercooler, it won't do better than mid 15'* on any day,

Oh, baloney! The IHI turbos were pretty small, but easily enough to get it into the 14s if boosted and intercooled well enough.

Plus, the turbos off of SVOs or xr4tis were garrett T3 60 trim pieces - plenty to put a T-bird into the high 12s if you went with a bigger intercooler mounted up front (to hell with water cooling in it'* stock location, I don't know what they were thinking putting it there).

bit. I'd loved to see the mod list if these are really doing 12.8. I have a couple of friends who run SVO and TC'* that would love to get those numbers.

Turbo cars are not that tough to make fast, seriously!!! A pal of mine (RIP) used the origonal mitsubishi turbo (similar in size to the IHI used in T-birds) on his 2.5L front wheel drive minivan, maxxed it out, and managed to run 13.9. MINIVAN = heavier and much less aerodynamic than a T-bird!
