anyone looked into extending the wires for the compressor switch into the cabin so it could be activated on the fly? Just a thought...

Getting the wires from the trunk won't be a problem. The buttons are momentary, and since you have an SE, you could get the performance/normal shift buttons out of a junkyard and use them to activate the compressor. What do you have in mind?

you could also just get the Buttons from the Comoressor out of a SSE/i and put them in the console......you will need to unplug the module in the trunk so the ELC will operate with the swithes

If you were to look at doing this, consider something along these lines. Using relays you can have the module normally open and functional. With the press of a button you could disable the module and then use your "exteneded" switches or buttons to fill. Another press later on and your module could be reenabled to automatically lower the back.

Well, there'* more to that than simply turning on the compressor. You have to:

1. force air to struts (disconnect valve).
2. Turn on compressor.
3. Disable circuit after fill to prevent vent.

That'* why I'm suggesting a relay setup. The default w/o power would be normal operation. With the relay enabled you'd have the ability to fill.

What valve has to be pulled Bill?

The solonoid selector valve that decides whether the air goes to the inflator or the struts. If you disconnect it, it defaults to the struts.
