Default Help!

Today was a Baaaaaaad day!
I bought a new o2 sensor and a 180 thermo.
So i start by removing the old 02 and it totally stripped the pipe out.......
i cant be without the car so the new o2 sensor'* threads were jb welded and wired down tight as can be.

So what are my options? Dont think it can be re threaded so what do i do???

180 thermo is so sweeeet!!!
Made the difference, much much cooler!!!

You'll have to have it heli-coiled, unless you know how to yourself. The problem is that it'* not a standard thread size. The only other option is to replace the downpipe.

I'd wait and see how that JB weld holds. You made sure not to get any on the element, right?

Lucky for him the downpipe is probably cheaper than having it heli-coiled. I just checked.

Oops. It'* not in the downpipe. It'* in the header. Spendy. Just remembered that.
Good thing JB weld is good stuff......for now. in 50 or 60k miles, you'll have to deal with this. Die grinder and more JB weld.

I had to JB weld a stut stud on a Jeep Cherokee for a friend as an emergency fix. It was still there when he sold it 3 years later. Lower Strut stud. Impressive.

The O2 is a Metric Pipe Threaded hole! You can try getting a bolt or pipe plug with the same threads first & very carefully try re-threading the old hole this way! Use lots of "cutting fluid" while doing this though, & not so much re-cutting at one time! Try about no more than 1/8 turn per cut! This will be the cheapest route by far! Worse case is either new manifold or R&R present manifold & heli-coil it!
