GM offers a flywheel for the 88 89 and 90 bonnevilles with engine vin c. Any one know what engine this is? I have a 92 park ave with a poped trans and a caviler with a five speed and a poped engine i'm thinking about using these two cars to attemped a 5 speed swap. IN the yard thiss weekend I was looking at a 1989 eighty eight owners manual and it gives shifting instructions and service procuders for 5 speed cars. all the H bodies use the same cradle from 85 to 99 except in the deville wich went to 93. Can any one confirm this information, or offer any input.

Its' been known to be possible for years. But with that heavy car, you'll be eating clutches regularly. What you want is a Gertrag 5 speed, and a HELL of a good clutch. You better be a d a m n good welder and fabricator, and you'll need a custom PCM to finish the job.

so was this a factoy option has any one ever seen one? Also the fiero guys use a modified F body flywheel to keep their manual transes so in theory if you bough one of these flywheels that isn't nessary?

This was never a factory option in a FWD H body.

You could possible try to use the F body trans and axels To get the 5speed that was on some of the 3800s and make it RWD

Don't think that is feasible considering how flat underneath the unibody is. There would be nowhere for the driveshaft to run, unless it just hung out underneath the car and was not hidden.

you could set it up like the pontiac 6000 run it down the exhaust tunnel above the exhaust you would have to cut the floor up for the tranny prolly though.

yeah you would have to make a "tunnel" for the drive shaft. Might have to relocate the gas tank to fit a rear diff.
